POSITION
Summary:
This position supports the work of the Buhl Club, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
The Membership & Marketing Director intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture.
The Membership & Marketing Director is responsible for driving all membership acquisition, engagement, development, sales and retention to achieve stated goals, including increasing member satisfaction, reducing member terminations and improving new member acquisition rates in accordance with the purpose and policies of the Buhl Club.
The Membership & Marketing Director will be the lead professional to establish the Buhl Club's presence and image within the Shenango Valley including marketing, public relations, and social media.
Success will reflect the Buhl Club being viewed as an engaged key partner and advocate for youth, families, and older adults.
This position will oversee the development, supervision, and administration of Member Services.
Essential Functions:
1.
Ensures programs and services meet community needs.
2.
Directs and leads member acquisition development and satisfaction, and ensures a level of service and engagement that fosters loyalty (retention) among those we serve.
3.
Generates, analyzes, reviews and adjusts, as appropriate, membership statistics, acquisition and retention reports 4.
Design and implement our Annual Marketing Plan including membership, community engagement, philanthropy and program marketing.
5.
Organizes membership events at the Buhl Club and represents the Buhl Club at community events to promote the Buhl Club.
6.
Collect and communicate mission stories.
7.
Design and prepare all collateral materials for our Annual Campaign.
8.
Plans and executes special events.
9.
Prepare and distribute quarterly e-mail member newsletter.
10.
Design, develop and approve marketing material including program flyers, program brochures, t-shirts, banners, etc.
11.
Oversee the successful implementation/use of our website and social media outlets.
12.
Leads and directs the recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating and supervision for Member Services.
13.
Develops, along with the Executive Director and Director of Operations, the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for departments and takes appropriate action to correct variances.
14.
Coordinates with the Director of Operations as necessary on financial transactions and oversees Membership staff responsible for:
Invoicing for Membership Monthly monitoring of Terminating and Renewing Units Corporate or third party billed memberships Develop and oversee the financial assistance process.
Develop, implement and oversee data monitoring and reporting including, but not limited to:
Monthly database cleanup reporting procedures Quality assurance plan to ensure data is recorded correctly and timely by membership staff Maintain advanced knowledge of Club Automation.
Membership forms audit, checking data is correct and complete in Club Automation, makes changes as needed to accounts and scheduled drafts ACC and EFT Return Report and follow-up with members to update information and collect balance Return and invoice collection summary, communicating monthly with Director of Operations Access denied reports; membership terminations Actively support and engage in the Annual Campaign to raise awareness and encourage members and participants to contribute All other tasks as assigned by designate.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One year of Marketing experience.
Excellent relationship building skills coupled with critical thinking.
Capable of analyzing and interpreting membership data trends.
Must be able to multi-task, set priorities effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills needed.
Previous supervisory experience.
Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Background Check, and NSOR Clearance.
Current CPR & First Aid Certification.
